MozBar V5: what remains free
The current official listing separates three access levels: guest page inspection; a free Community account that adds Domain Authority and Page Authority; and Moz Pro access for Spam Score and advanced analysis. Losing a paid feature is not the same as the toolbar failing.
If you only need Moz DA and PA, first check whether the free account covers your task. A competing toolbar’s DR or Authority Score is not Moz DA.

Choose the smallest useful setup
For on-page QA: begin with Detailed. For headers and redirects: check Ahrefs Toolbar. For a free Chrome audit and SERP context: inspect SEOquake’s current listing. For reports that explicitly require Moz DA: keep the Moz source.
Choose one primary page-check extension. Several simultaneous overlays can make a page harder to inspect and complicate permission diagnosis. Use the browser and task finder for a specific recommendation.

Installation and browser support
Use the publisher’s official installation links. Detailed lists Chrome and Firefox. Ahrefs lists Chrome, Firefox and Safari, but notes that its Metrics Bar is not available on Safari. Moz now links maintained Chrome and Firefox builds from its official toolbar page. Its Firefox listing also supports Firefox for Android; check the store’s current version requirements.
For Edge or Opera, follow the browser’s current store prompts and check extension permissions. Chrome-compatible installation is not a guarantee that every MozBar feature is supported. See the browser compatibility table.

Which free extension replaces MozBar DA and PA?
If you need the actual Moz DA and PA metrics, use the free Moz Community access offered in the current MozBar listing. Other vendors’ metrics are different measurements.
Can I use Ahrefs Toolbar without a paid subscription?
The vendor documents free page inspection and free-account DR/UR access. Some additional research metrics need account or paid access. Check the current toolbar page for the exact boundary.
Should I replace Moz Pro with an extension?
Only if your recurring work is page inspection. An extension does not replace campaign history, recurring audits, keyword databases and client reports.
