Which one is actually cheaper for you?
Already on Moz Starter? Mangools Basic at its monthly rate is not cheaper than US$49. Ahrefs Starter has a lower sticker price, but its research limits may make it a poor replacement for your weekly work. On Moz Standard or above? A narrower tool may save money, provided the tracking cadence and reporting are sufficient.
Compare monthly billing with monthly billing. Mangools Basic’s US$37.70 annual equivalent requires US$452.40 upfront; it is not a US$37.70 rolling monthly subscription. Annual plans introduce commitment and cancellation risk.
A useful shortlist is Ahrefs Starter for occasional research, Mangools for a small keyword workflow, and a Moz downgrade when continuity matters. Treat SE Ranking as a capacity comparison until you have matched your currency and workload.

Measure the hidden cost before cancelling
Start with the invoice you actually pay, including seats and add-ons. Add the time to recreate reports, import keyword groups and teach the team. A US$40 monthly saving is only US$480 over a year; ten migration hours at US$50/hour already cost US$500 before any overlap.

Check a replacement for one reporting cycle
